At the suggestion of his mommy, Andy went to the theatre and found it BORING. So, that's one place he'd rather avoid. By the time they were finished, they'd be really familiar with the outlay of Sunset Valley. All the best hiding places etc.
Considering that he was a 'sort of' outdoorsy kind of person, Andy loved the book store, especially when there was a special offer or a coupon he could use to save money. Oh yes, clipping coupons daily, often paid well.

They visited a lot of places, meeting lots of people.

Central Park was always a popular haven. Meeting all kinds of characters. A Family Oriented policeman, who, judging by the looks of things, was laden down with kids.

An elderly couple taking a picnic by the shimmering lake.

Even one sad-faced old gent, whose antics looked really shifty, given the expression on his face, but were in fact the result of him forgetting to go to the toilet, and peeing himself in public!!!!

Oh the horror, the embarrassment!
Many times, Sonia and Andy would spend a few minutes playing chess. Either alone, or with each other.

Other times it would be different opponents whilst Sonia mingled with the other folks in town.

And Sonia always enthused about how proud she was of her little boy.

She often met work colleagues and like minded people, to share her interest in cooking with.

A few times, they'd go up to the lake sandwiched between the Landgrabb's and the Alto's grand mansions, just to go fishing and have a quiet picnic in the early evening.

And once or twice, Andy would find himself in his mommy's place of work, the diner, where he enjoyed his burgers and fries.

However, one day when Sonia was dropping off some books for a charity donation drive at the Town Hall, he was left on his own to do as he pleased, so he thought he'd be brave, and go shopping.

It didn't matter that his mom grew the best produce in the town, he just HAD to purchase a tomato from the supermarket - for his fish, of course. Only 'sub standard' stuff would do - apparently. The fish bite better that way (or so the fishing book told him).

As we mentioned earlier, this was a turning point for Sonia as she discovered a world outside the diner, away from her home.
It was a world where she would find new things daily.
A Death Plant in the creepy graveyard.
Seeds scattered about the place.

An Omni Plant hidden amongst the specimens at the Science Laboratory (and a brand new fishing place for Andy too)

Rocks that were revealed to have gemstones, silver and gold in them.

Even beautiful butterflies fitting about in the park.

Coming out of the Town Hall, she felt a great sense of achievement as they heartily accepted her three complimentary books for the charity drive.

It was a text book, fairytale style of living.....
... or was it?
Coming up next..... Andy upsets the neighbours
