Sometimes he'd manage on his own. Others, he needed some help, so mommy would sit cross-legged, patiently helping him out with his sums and essays.

She found out that his favourite colour was Sea Foam, so she decided that his bedroom in the new extension, would be decorated suitably. Much to little Andy's delight.
She was also to discover that he had a few unique traits too.
He was exceptionally frugal, trying his hardest to save his pennies as and when necessary. Many a day, she'd find him sitting riffling through the newspapers, clipping out the coupons. None of them were appropriate, mainly from the Spa and the Beauty Salon, but his persistence was amusing, to say the least.
It was finding a stack of outdated coupons hidden under the mattress that sparked an idea from Sonia, however.
Too long had she looked frumpy and conservative. Andy had given her a new outlook in life. So she took herself off to the salon for a long awaited makeover.
The manageress at the salon always insisted on taking 'before' and 'after' pictures. Reminding her clients of just how much of a difference she'd made in their lives. It was a nice touch really.
She even went that extra mile, suggesting certain fashion boutiques, whose staff were highly trained on how to 'dress' their clients for a cost within the client's budgets.
And so, Sonia posed nervously for her 'before' picture.... and cringed at how 'middle-aged' and frumpy she looked.

A couple of hours later, with a little make up and some hair extensions skilfully woven into her recently coloured hair (until her own hair grows long enough), and...
Ta daaaa!!!!!!!
What a transformation! She looks younger and more vibrant as she smiles shyly for the camera and the 'after' picture.

Well, going back to little Andy.....
He had a Good Sense of Humour. Always finding the funny side of things, and softly chuckling to himself. It brightened up Sonia's day considerably.
But the thing he loved most of all. His greatest passion.
Was that of fishing.
He'd spend hours and hours, just standing at the lake side, waiting patiently for a bite. He even brought some fish home and put them in bowls, feeding them daily.

Sadly, that was also his downfall too. Many a time he'd wait until mommy went to work and sneak off to the graveyard, just to stand for hours, waiting for that 'special' 10lb fish he'd secretly wished for.

And many times, Sonia would have to call him back home before his curfew came into effect.
One incident springs to mind. Andy had finished school for the day, but his fun bar was pretty low, as was his energy bar. So he spent his time....
... yes, you guessed it....
... fishing.
By the time he got home, he was so tired that he couldn't keep his eyes open, his homework untouched on the kitchen table.

The next morning, he awoke pretty early and reluctantly started his homework right after breakfast, grumbling and moaning, dropping hints that he wanted to skip school and go fishing instead.

Sonia wasn't having it, and made him sit there until he'd completed his assignment and watched as he got on the school bus.
She felt a little guilty about it later on, and decided to give him a hug and pack him a picnic as a reward for being a good boy and thinking about his education.

She also gave him a map to a remote place that he might find interesting. Actually, he'd been surfing the internet himself and saw it, but he didn't hold out too much hope for permission from mommy. It was just too far away. But, considering that he was so well behaved (most of the time) she'd relented and let him go.

It had a massive, thundering waterfall, crashing down from the granite mountainside, and churning into the deep blue lake at the bottom.

It was simply divine.

So, with a happy, excited smile, Andy hopped onto his bike and pedalled like hell to his new location, where he lost himself for a couple of hours.
