She'd worked her butt off to gain the coveted position of a 5 Star Chef at the diner - and a posh, luxurious car, courtesy of the owner for her car pool. (although the combination of khaki and gun metal grey, aren't quite the colours I'd have chosen)

Mastered the Cooking Skill AND the Gardening Skill, getting fancy plaques of both, to hang proudly on the walls.

She'd also managed to sweat out another two books, boosting up her Writing Skills a little more. All this plus work, taking up some opportunities along the way, AND raising little Andy too.

But she wasn't happy.
Something was missing.

Then it dawned on her.
An impromptu party!!!
This would strengthen her relationships with her friends, work colleagues and get a few other neighbours to sample her culinary delights.
So, without further ado, she decided to tidy up the garden and prepare the buffet, hire a fancy stereo system - the house wasn't big enough to buy one - and phone a few friends.

The party wasn't for another couple of hours, so she decided to put the sprinkler to good use, squealing and dancing through the icy cold droplets.

She'd never had so much fun!

Quite a few people turned up, and she circulated, rubbing shoulders with some folks, dancing with others. Always trying to give everyone a little attention.

In the end, as the party drew to a close, everyone declared they had a fantastic time, and left calling cards, hoping she'd cater for their parties too.
Sadly for Andy, he was at school and arrived home just as the last guests were leaving.
But that didn't stop him from trying out the food.

And playing with the sprinkler himself.

Both of them had been surprised when guests showed up with plates of food!
So, not wanting to throw away such fine fare, (and following Andy's pledge to save money), they put the leftovers in the brand spanking new fridge.
Sonia glanced across to see little Andy cuddling and chatting to Theo, his favourite teddy bear and her heart melted.

"Come outside," she said quietly, "I've got something to show you."
Curious, he followed her.
She pulled out her guitar and plucked the strings hesitantly. It had been a while since she'd last played it. Concentrating, she started strumming, the soft (if not discordant) sound wafting through the cool, quiet evening air.

It made Andy smile.
"One day," she said, looking up at him, "this will be yours..... if you want it."
Andy just clapped his hands and smiled.
"But I suspect," she continued, "you've got other ambitions planned for the future."
She gave him a hug and he went to bed. As soon as his head hit the pillow, he was out like a light.

Sonia in the meantime, propped the guitar back in it's cradle and went back to writing her third novel.

This one was taking the longest time, but... she had all the time in the world.....
